Yvonne DeHart:
Nancy Eliz. was Lark's 3rd wife. She went by Liz & was previously married
to George Deboard. Her dau. Carmie Deboard was married to Lark's son
Jesse. Liz was the mother of Isaac Deboard, my mom's gr. father. Uncle
Jesse & Carmie moved to Lawrence Cty. & after 1930 Liz did too. She's
buried there. She was an Obryan & I think she was a sister to Alonzo
(buried at Billie Dotson). The Deboards & O'Bryan came from Lawrence Cty,
probably to work at Emperor Coal. Lark was about 18 yrs older than Liz &
when he became sick she went to live in Lawrence with Carmie. Lark's
oldest child Vicy took him to live with her at Boardtree. In the 1930
census Lark & Liz were living in Johnson Bottom. Don't know why since he
owned all the land in McCoy Bottom, as well as across the road. It came
down thru Martha Cline & he got most all the land left to her by Rich
Jake. He was the only child she didn't outlive, although I've never found
anything concrete about her death or where she's buried, Truda McCoy's
book says she died in 1907. Liz was also a 'granny woman' (midwife) &
delivered babies for 50 cents.
I corrected the way she had O'Bryan spelled in one place but missed the
other place.....so you may want to double check the spelling of it.
