I am related to the Hatfield's through my 3rd Great Grandmother, Lucretia Hatfield. All the information I have is that she was born in Kentucky about 1817. On the 1880 Census, she states her father was born in Pennsylvania and her mother was born in Kentucky. Lucretia married my 3rd Great grandfather, Anderson Chapman in Henry Co. Indiana March 31 1835. Anderson was born in Virginia and the family moved to Kentucky and on to Indiana. I found quite a few Hatfield's and Chapmans in the 1830 Indiana Census. Thomas Chapman is the father of Anderson and the census shows the families of John Hatfield, Lidia Hatfield, Edward Hatfield and Nathaniel Hatfield living close by. Lucretia would have been about 13 at the time of the 1830 census and would only fit in the household of John as the household of Lidia and Edward show no females of that age. The transcription I used shows a total of 4 in the household of Nathaniel but there are no number indicators for sex or age....all zeros across the page. Do you or anyone you know have information on this line of Hatfield's? I do not want to place her as the daughter of John without knowing for sure she even belongs in this line. I checked out your Pennsylvania Hatfield's, but nothing looks like it would fit my Lucretia. Anderson and Lucretia moved from Indiana to Iowa in 1841 and then to Jo Daviess County, IL in 1843 where they lived out their lives. Anderson died in 1900 and Lucretia died in 1886. Their children are: Thomas b. 1836 IN John b. 1837 IN William Henry b. 1839-1915 IN (I descend through William) Joseph b. 1842 Mary C b. 1843 George b. 1845 IL Emma b. 1853 IL Elizabeth b. 1856 IL Ellen b. 1859 IL Infant Daughter Name unknown, died in infancy James no information other than died in youth Edward no information other than died in youth I hope you can either give me an answer or some pointers on how to find Lucretia's parents. Thank you for your time. Connie
