Hi Jerry,
 
I hope this gets through. I tried to copy your e-mail address off of the
last message you sent through Nancy Hargiss, my cousin.
 
I will tell you that My Great Grandfather Benjamin Hatfield was married
to Delilah (Hartter) in Henry County , Ind. November 12, 1841. I found
thier marriage license as you suggested at New Castle, Ind. in the
county clerks office. I believe that they misspelled her name of Hartter
as Harker on the paper. However, I could not find anything else ar rhe
court house. No land records or birth certificates of their children.
The problem could be that they did not live in that county.
 
I find in some obituaries that my Grandfather was William F. Hatfield and
he was married to Addie Croffoot on September 19, 1875, in
Carroll County , Ill.
William was born in Indianapolis , Ind. Sept. 13, 1846. He died Sept. 5,
1932 at Sabetha, KS.
 
They had 4 sons: William Perry; Theodore Ernest; George Leonard; Clarence
Eugene.
1 Daughter: Clarissa.
 
William Hatfield had 3 sisters and 5 brothers. I know of Boone; Dave; &
Charles D.
Sisters:
Mrs. Lou Michiel --Denver, CO.
Mrs. Anna Bennet--Clinton, Iowa
 
Charles D. Had 3 sons: Charles J Hatfield ---Savanna, Ill.
William --Detroit ,
Michigan
James ---Hanover, Ill.
2 Daughters: Mrs. Bertha Fitz (something I couldn't
read) --Savanna, Ill.
Mrs. Dorothy Shaffer,
Hanover, Ill.
 
I am the son of Clarence Eugene Hatfield who was born Oct. 11, 1902 . He
died May 15, 1946. He was married to Lena Lucille Jordan August 14, 1927
at Sabetha, Ks.
I have a brother Donald Keith and a sister Leona Lucille.
 
I can'r identify with the Hatfield's in your last letter with the name
Jean , but I am still searching for a connection possibly with a John
Hatfield who moved from Virginia to Carroll County, Ind. about 1800. I
have always wondered if My Great grandfather Benjamin was a decendant of
John.
 
That's all that I have right now. Hope you can make some sense of it. Do
we have any connection that you have found?
