John P Hatfield [00880] Michigan Composite Map 1914

(Select 1889 or 1901 to see this same area in those years.)
Hason Sinclair, Mertie Sinclair Hatfield's father, died in 1911.  Consequently, this 1914 composite map of portions of Hamilton and Elba Townships of Gratiot County Michigan no longer shows any property belonging to him.

There are two properties listed in Hamilton Township, one shows the 1914 homestead of John Hatfield and the other shows L. E. Criss' property.  Presumably, Merti Sinclair Hatfield is living on the property owned by her husband, John, and Ida Sinclair Criss, Merti's older sister, is living on the property owned by her husband.

In 1910, Michael is still shown on the Federal census as living with his parents.  After the death of Hason, the widow of Hason Sinclair, Eliza Miller Sinclair was said to be living with her son, Michael Sinclair, in Elba Township.  This may be the location marked for M. Sinclair in Elba Township per this map.  In 1920, the other son of Hason and Eliza, Ira James Sinclair, is listed on the census as living with his brother, Michael.
