This death certificate says that Samuel's father was S.R. Hatfield from Virginia but it is attested to by his son C.F. Hatfield (Clarence Frederick Hatfield) who never knew his grandfather (Francis died 16 years before Clarence was born). The J.B. Rogers Funeral Home of South Pittsburg TN, who did the burial, had a fire in 1935 which destroyed their records.
