Jestine "Jessy" Tolliver b. - d. - ----- Children ----- John Reed Caldwell [A1742]
The Tolliver-Martin feud in Rowan County, Kentucky resulted in 20 men dead and about the same number wounded. It featured an Election Day Killing and a house-burning raid.   It reached its climactic end in June, 1887, when about 60 men fought a battle in the Main Street of Morehead, the county seat. Four of the Tolliver faction, including their leader, Craig Tolliver, died in that battle.   https://www.facebook.com/groups/hatfieldmmcoy/permalink/866479460096259/   Anse's daughter Betty Hatfield married John Caldwell. John's mother was Jestine "Jessy" Caldwell. Jestine was the first cousin of Floyd Tolliver, who was killed in Morehead in 1884. Floyd's brother Craig Tolliver took over the feuding after the death of his brother, Floyd. Jestine's brother Hugh Tolliver was the father of Floyd and Craig. So the connection is both close and direct!   Ryan Hardesty https://www.facebook.com/groups/hatfieldmmcoy/permalink/866479460096259/?c omment_id=867059456704926&offset=0&total_comments=5&comment_tracking=%7B%2 2tn%22%3A%22R%22%7D --------------------------------
