I also found the Revolutionary pension records of Elias. He died shortly
after getting his pension. Unfortunately for his wife, Ann
Lindsay/Lindsey,
the agent she hired to represent her refused to turn her certificate over
and
it took ten years for her to get it. Fortunately for me, that meant a
lot of
testimony from people who knew them. It gave their marriage date, said
both
were born in New Jersey, their first child was born two years before they
moved to PA. Her name was Ann, her married name was Core. It said they
had
nine children and named Timothy, probably the youngest. It gave Ann
Hatfield's parents as James and (although hard to read it looks like)
"Christina". I think Elias was descended from Matthias and Abraham
Hatfield/Hetfield.
Elias had a Hannah Freeman, the wife of Matthias Hatfield, in his family.
Elias HATFIELD, b. 11 Mar 1760 in Woodbridge, Essex, NJ. He served in the
Revolution joining in NJ in the Flying Comp. He m. Ann LINDSAY/LINDSEY
(parents James and Christina?) 10 Apr 1789 in NJ where their first child
Ann
was b. 1791. They had nine children, the rest born in Fayette Co., PA.
Known
children were Samuel b. 6 Dec 1797 in Uniontown, Fayette, PA., James
Lindsay
b. 26 Oct 1801, and Timothy. Elias d. 19 May 1839 in Fayette Co. PA. Any
information regarding their parents, siblings, and children would be
