Edward Hatfield married Catherine Leikens on 2/3/1713 at Old Christ Church in Philadelphia. This same Edward, in 1710, purchased a lot of land in Germantown. In the deed, he is referred to as "Edward, one of the sons of Adam Hadfield, of Germantown". From the records of Swedesboro Church, we know that two of Edward and Catherine' children were Maria (b. 1723) and Adam (b. 1726). The date of Edward's death is not known. However, on 6/30/1731 an inventory is recorded of his personal belongings and three days later, on 7/3/1731, Catherine remarried. In a deposition on that day, she stated that Edward left her with four small children and an unborn child. According to my records, that leaves three children unnamed and unaccounted for. -Galen Hatfield
