What town or area in Hannover are the following WOHLTMANN's from?
Father: Friedrich WOHLTMANN, b. abt 1823 in Hannover, Prussia. (His
wife reportedly died in childbirth.)
CHILDREN: (all born in Hannover) Heinrich (Henry), b. abt 1853;
Doris or Dora Rebecca, b. abt 1856; Fritz (Fred), b. abt 1858; and
Helena (Lena), b. abt 1866. (Her death cert. states born Feb 1862. It
also gives her birth place as DROHOFMAN, GERMANY. We cannot find any
such place.)
They sailed to America on the "Asia", arriving in Baltimore 28 May 1873.
From there they went to Van Wert co., Ohio. On the 1880 census we find
some of them in Monterey, Putnam,OH. On the 1900 census we find Henry
with a family (wife: Margarite) in Cleveland,OH.
Helena (Lena) married Samuel R. HATFIELD of Putnam co.,OH. They resided
in Michigan where two sons were born: Rolland and Clarence HATFIELD.
The latter is my husband's grandfather, who moved to and married in
Montana. Rolland was in Illinois with his family until he died.
